Mycourse has been offering book-keeping courses by distance learning for a number of years now, firstly through the International Association of Book-keepers (IAB) and more recently through the Institute of Certified Book-keepers. (ICB) We are also providers of training in Sage Accounting software using only genuine sage products.
We have a strong relationship with the ICB with whom we have worked closely to develop our own training materials.
Most of our courseware is written by our in-house tutors and is based on real-life scenarios. In our manual book-keeping courses, you will write up the books for a company as if you are the book-keeper, giving you practice of situations that may arise during your future book-keeping career.
Where we do not use our own materials, we source the courseware from another ICB approved author - specifically for our ICB Diploma in Payroll Management and Level III Manual and Computerised Book-keeping.
Our examination results are consistently above the national average.
We offer a full version of Sage Instant Accounts with our computerised book-keeping course as we feel this is the best version for training purposes. The interface is the same as the higher-end Sage 50 software but without unnecessary modules that will not be used as part of the ICB course. What you learn with Sage Instant will be the same process as Sage 50. With a real copy of the software - it is yours to keep and use in the future.
However, if you are looking to use Sage for keeping the books of your clients - they must each purchase a copy of the software. So you must be careful to purchase the correct version for your purposes. In most cases the software (Instant or Sage 50) is for use by a single person to keep the records of a single company. We are members of the Sage Accountants Club and again have a close daily contact with Sage - the largest provider of accounting software in the UK. We are able to offer competitive pricing on all sage products - whether training or the real software. We have knowledge of the different versions and the benefits or suitability of each.
If you purchase a sage course from Mycourse, you can be sure you are getting a good price with optional support from our trained and experienced tutors.
We like to enhance our training wherever we can and the implementation of a LMS some years ago has proved very useful for our clients. Here we can add extra exercises for you to complete with short tests of your knowledge to help you build confidence prior to any examination you may have to sit. Within the LMS, you may have direct contact with tutors or other students that may be online at the same time.
Mycourse does not use self-employed tutors to support their students - they are employed directly by us. This means that in most cases, the tutor is available at the end of a 'phone line (0845 862 0608 - why not call now ?). They are normally available Mon-Fri from 10 - 4pm. If out-of-hours - will respond to email the next working day. It also means that we have full control over quality of support, ensuring that our high standards are met at all times.
We do not use television advertising or salespeople to sell our courses - most of our marketing is centred on working with internet search engines to ensure you can find our website and so our costs are very low. These savings are passed on to our clients through reduced fees.
