Students

Firstly - we're here to help ! Don't hesitate to call and speak to a tutor about your choice of course Tel. 0845 862 0608

This is a general guide to what to expect from studying with us - please refer to the individual course details for further information

Which course ?

Sometimes it's difficult to make the correct choice from those available. Questions such as: 'Will I manage the level of study?'; ' Do I have the right skills to be able to complete the course?'; 'Will I receive a certificate from an accredited provider?'. If you are in doubt, why not call our hotline on 0845 862 0608 ? If you prefer to email : or use the chat facility on the left.

You've chosen - what next ?

Once you've decided on your course of study, you can make payment online - we use PayPal as our secure payment provider. Many courses have the option to purchase using four payments and many offer a discount if you pay in full. Once you have made payment, you will receive a confirmation email. This is then received by your tutor, who will arrange for you to receive your course materials through the post. The tutor will email you to let you know when you are likely to receive the study package.

Tutor support ?

For the ICB courses, tutor support is available for the duration of your study - see the course details for details of how long this is available. Support is normally available during the working day from 9am until 4pm (12.30 on Friday). Outside of these hours, you may call to leave a message, send an email to your tutor or leave a message on the chat facility.

If you are using your ILA account in Scotland, all courses include tutor support as per course page details.

The online small business finance courses include tutor support

The Sage courses otherwise are sold as standalone packages - without tutor support.

The online Microsoft courses do not include tutor support

Study - will I manage ?

Well it's going to be a challenge isn't it ? Take heart though, thousands just like you, undertake distance learning courses every day - you're no different from anyone else and with help and support from your tutor, you'll be amazed at what can be achieved in even a short space of time.

Try our study guide to help you prepare for taking the plunge.

Will I need to sit an examination ?

Examinations can be scary - but only if you are unprepared. If you've been through the study package carefully, completed all of the assignments, taken advice from your tutor and are fully ready - it will be a breeze. Check out our success rates for our ICB courses- they are amongst the best in the country. Successfully passing an examination shows that you have gained the skills and knowledge - it is part of the accreditation process. Some of the ICB course examinations can be sat at home and others sat at a PearsonVue centre near to you.

In the case of Sage accounts and Payroll courses, these are examined online, with a Certificate produced by Sage on successful completion. Further fees may be chargeable if you should not pass first time.

For courses without an examination requirement, we can produce a Mycourse certificate once we are satisfied that you have completed all components. We may ask you to sit a short online test to prove your skills.

What next ?

Having completed your course of study, speak to your tutor for further advice about what to do next. You may decide that further study is best or you may have sufficient skill to start your new career or to start a business of your own. Make sure you ask for advice early, as your goals may dictate your choice of study path.

Mycourse - a good starting point to upgrade your skills !
